The City Museum holds over 80,000 items, systematically arranged into collections. Large variety of exhibits from the cultural, artistic, economic and political history of the city dates from the age of the Romans to the modern period.
Museum of Broken Relationships
This unique museum is the first private museum in the Croatia. It holds mementos of failed relationships that people donate to the museum. They describe this as a way to overcome an emotional collapse through creation, by contributing to the museum’s collection.
Drazen Petrovic Museum – Memorial Center
This museum and memorial center is dedicated to Drazen Petrovic, the legendary Croatian basketball player who tragically ended his career in a car accident in 1993. The museum was designed by the plans of the famous Croatian architects and offers a place to experience Drazen’s life and accomplishments.
Museum of Illusions
This interesting museum offers an intriguing visual experience for all generations since it was opened in 2015. It contains optical illusions, puzzles and brain busters like water flowing uphill, climbing onto the ceiling, people shrinking in front of you and other fun stuff.
Atelier Mestrovic
This is one of the four country museums dedicated to the greatest Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović. Mestrovic donated to the country his family house from the 17th century, together with his 300 sculptures, drawings, lithographs and other works.
