Cathedral of the Assumption

This is the most famous sacral building in Zagreb, the symbol of the city and also the tallest building in Croatia. It represents the most stylish and eloquent church architecture of the Gothic style southeast of the Alps.

Croatian National Theatre

The Croatian National Theatre, referred to as HNK, is one of the most recognizable buildings in the city due to its beautiful architecture. In front of the theatre there is the Fountain of Life, a work of the famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović.

St. Mark’s church

This colourful church is one of the city symbols and among the oldest buildings in Zagreb. It dates from the 13th century, and was reconstructed by the ideas of Viennese architects in the second half of the 19th century. The famous tiled roof features the coat of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia.

The Stone gate

This is one of the survived original town gates from the 13th century. It is a place of pilgrimage with the painting of the Virgin Mary, which was miraculously saved from the great fire in 1731. You can reach this place walking from the Tkalciceva street to the upper town.

Cathrin’s church

This is the most beautiful Baroque church in Zagreb. It is located on the square of the same name – Catherine’s Square (Katarinin trg). The church was built by the Jesuits in the early 17th century. Behind the church you can enjoy the beautiful view to the Kaptol, the cathedral, the Dolac market and the main square.
